True Freedom: A Cornerstone Gift from the Son

So, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

I bought some things from the market last year. On my way back, a voice suggested that I could make some extra money by not revealing the true value of my purchases, as no one knew how much I spent. However, another compassionate and wise voice within me reminded me of the precious gift of honesty that God bestows upon us. We carry the power of Jesus within ourselves. Honesty is what safeguards our freedom, whereas deceit leads us down the wrong path. In John 8:36, Jesus speaks of genuine freedom, which resonates with the Old Testament's story of being set free from oppression, leading to a promised land.

The Church stands as a cornerstone, a place where this liberating truth is celebrated and shared. Just as the Israelites found freedom from captivity, we find a deeper, spiritual freedom in Christ. Through His sacrifice, we are unshackled from sin's burden, and our souls are set free.

The New Testament reaffirms this message, as we learn of the salvation and redemption found in Christ (Romans 8:1-2). As the Church, we are bearers of this life-changing message, reflecting the early believers' unity and boldness in proclaiming the Gospel (Acts 4:32-33).

Let us be inspired to live out this freedom in our lives, extending grace, forgiveness, and compassion to others. As the Church, we have the privilege and responsibility to share the Son's liberating love with the world.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the freedom found in Your Son, Jesus Christ. May the Church continue to stand as a cornerstone, sharing this life-transforming truth with all who seek liberation. Empower us to live as true witnesses of the freedom we have in Christ, reflecting the unity and love of the early Church. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
