Jesus is a Peace to Every Relationship

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13

Have you ever wondered why God placed you in various relationships? Relationships can be challenging, but they are vital parts of our journey. They provide opportunities for us to grow in the love and forgiveness of Christ.

Let's consider some important questions, Do we use our God-given free will to love and forgive, as Jesus exemplified? Or are we misusing our power to destroy or damage our relationships? Are we willing to follow Jesus' path of forgiveness, even when it's too difficult?

Let’s learn from a biblical story, in the book of Hosea, God commands the prophet Hosea to marry Gomer, a woman who would be unfaithful. Hosea's unwavering love for Gomer, despite her unfaithfulness, shows God's love for His people. This story teaches us that God wants to restore broken relationships and bring reconciliation, no matter how damaged they may seem.

The book of Hosea 3:1 declares that "The Lord said to me, Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites". In the New Testament we can see in Ephesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. The Bible reveals Jesus' sacrificial love for us, as the Bridegroom of His church. He wants us to follow His example, offering love and forgiveness to heal the broken relationships.

As followers of Christ, we are called to emulate His forgiveness, mirroring His prayer for those crucifying Him. Are we actively extending this forgiveness to those in our lives? We are urged to cultivate a Christ-like mindset, which entails showing love and offering forgiveness to foster peace in all our relationships, thus Jesus set this example Himself. These principles are essential for upholding peace in our relationships and aligning our hearts with Jesus' teachings.

Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the power of Jesus' love and sacrifice. Help us, Lord, to emulate His love and forgiveness for bringing peace to our every relationship. Grant us the strength to forgive as we have been forgiven and to love as Christ loved the Church. May our lives be a reflection of Your grace and reconciliation. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
