Diligent hands bring Wealth

Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. Proverbs 10:4

In God's design, our hands are tools for His work. The Christian path rejects idleness, for as the adage goes, "Sloth brings want, while diligence reaps abundance." Our diligence isn't for self-centered gain like the rich man's bigger barns, but for faithfully stewarding God's provisions – constructing, aiding, nurturing, and creating.

It's effortless to succumb to passivity – extended TV time, leisurely breaks – and advocate for comfort. Even within the church, we may fill pews, listen, and converse, yet neglect action. James raises a mirror, " Do what God’s teaching says; don’t just listen and do nothing. When you only sit and listen, you are fooling yourselves. " (James 1:22) (ERV). We must employ busy hands to work and support those in need.

Resurrected Christ's wounded hands cleanse ours, enabling us to serve. With prayerful hands, we seek His strength and purpose. From His open hands flow opportunities and capabilities. Whether at home, work, or in our community, our hands engage in meaningful service – from household chores to professional tasks – weaving a tapestry of partnership.

The church embodies this partnership, channeling collective hands to amplify His work. Just as Proverbs 10:4 enlightens, diligent hands lead to success. The church embodies this wisdom, striving to enhance lives through unwavering faith. Its compassionate deeds and devoted service mirror this truth, reminding us that persistent dedication brings both spiritual fulfillment and material blessings. Let us learn from the church's example and embrace diligence, knowing it paves the path to prosperity in every sense.
